It starts by giving them a plan and figuring out what they are committed to.

There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it only when it is convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

Finding Your Road Map:

Do you know where you and your business are going? Some business owners have great ideas for making money, but no direction for the company. What exactly is your business supposed to do? Articulating the purpose of your business through leadership communication and leadership motivation gives you and your company focus. With so many different competing priorities and projects, a focus or mission for the company can help clear out the chaos.

The Declarations of Your Mission:

A company mission statement should be no more than a short paragraph. You aren’t trying to capture everything our company does in a day. You should include only the top two or three things that make your business succeed. By limiting the length of your mission statement, it will force you to set priorities. Once you’ve written your company mission statement, put it on company letterheads and give it to all employees. Consider having each employee sign an enlarged version of the mission statement so that each supports and commits to the statement. Afterward, from and place the company’s mission statement where your employees and customers can see it. This is your primary commitment in your business.

From your company mission statement, develop your list of priorities. What are you committed to? You can call these company commitments, owner commitments, owner values, whatever you want. Your company commitments are a list of things you and your employees are committed to. A sample of a company commitment might be:

“We are committed to providing exceptional customer service and ensure high customer satisfaction by always exceeding customer expectations in quality, service, and timelines.”

The company commitments are your promises on how you and our company intend to fulfill the company’s mission statement.

Post your company commitments right next to the company mission statement so your employees will make a connection between the company’s mission statement and the company’s commitments. During monthly company meetings read the mission and commitments of the company to assure the direction the company is headed. Now you have a direction for yourself, your company and your employees.

Oftentimes companies don’t bother to put a stress on their mission/mission statement and put it on the back burner. This is the basic foundation to a company and its future and there should be clear leadership communication of company commitments, values, and goals every day at work! Leadership motivation means giving your team direction and guidance towards success.

Check out the Business Coach Zone for FREE videos!

<itunes:keywords>commitment,Development, leadership, leadership communication, leadership motivation,Motivation</itunes:keywords> <itunes:subtitle>In order to run a business that requires more than one person to run it, you will have to learn about leadership motivation and how as a leader you will be able to influence and motivate your team. Let’s take a look at the Secret of Commitment!

Even the busiest executives need to take time to make sure all levels of management understand and are in alignment with the organizations’ commitments. Not only that though, they must also take the time to ensure their management understands what commitment actually means!

In today’s world, the concepts of commitment and convenience have merged, leaving an unclear understanding of what commitment actually means. Commitment is doing whatever is necessary to achieve desired results legally and with integrity. Commitment is showing up at work on time, ready and willing to meet the day’s agenda. Commitment is the ability to stick with something during the best, worst and in-between times. Just note a few things…

There is a difference between INTEREST and COMMITMENT

When you are INTERESTED in doing something, you do it only when it is convenient.

When you are COMMITTED to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

Along with commitment comes accountability and risk. Achieving results will motivate people to “hang in there” during the rocky process of initiating change.

The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.- Coach Vince Lombardi

Taking the time to identify and communicate your company commitments will help your employees develop a sense of direction and purpose at work. This will also encourage your employees to define their commitments.

Shared commitment is necessary from the top-down and bottom-up. It is a reciprocal relationship honored by all. This requires everyone in a business organization to be on the same page, driven to achieve the same goals and objectives.

Commitment can increase employee productivity as well as bottom-line profitability, while providing business leaders and employees with a sense of mutual achievement. Ultimately, all involved will realize the fun in discovering the desired result.

The secret of commitment is sticking it out long enough to validate for yourself that your commitment actually produces results for you, your employees and your organization.

www.businesscoachzone.com

<itunes:keywords>commitment,Executive Leadership</itunes:keywords> <itunes:subtitle> - Executive management training should be a constant in your business.
