If you’re anything like me, you wake up every day with a game plan to conquer the world. You made a list and you’re checking it twice to make sure all of your ducks are in a row for your perfect day.
From the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you’ve walked into instant chaos. You’re greeted with a dazzling array of challenges from every conceivable angle imaginable. By the time you’ve finished with all of the challenges you sit down at your desk with a half eaten sandwich at 4:30 PM to look at your wish list for the first time … that’s right wish list (you wish you could actually do some of the things on the list) You’re work day has just started.
So as your last employee leaves the office you’re busy scrambling to make a dent in your list. Just about 9:00 PM (three hours after your last employee left) you look up at the most incredible breath-taking picture of your family on the vacation of your dreams.
As exhaustion slowly depletes your productive brain cells you notice something different about the picture—you realize why you’re not in the picture and it hit you like a hot frying pan in the face.
You were at work that week.
At that very moment you resolve to change some things in your life, immediately. You wake up the next day with new resolve to leave work by 6PM at the latest. By the time you realized what hit you it was 9PM. Time to go home to do it again.
You have tried weekend seminars, books, tapes (I’m dating myself), CD’s MP3’s, DVD and anything else you can find. But like a beautiful bouquet of roses that fade and die in a few weeks—your newly found resolve dissipates to nothing;

Even though you doubt it’s possible, you know in your heart it’s true.
Years later you have a somewhat successful empire, but not time to enjoy it.
