Here are 5 great strategies you can teach your sales reps that will help them stay in touch with your customers!
- Teach them how to use automated e-mail notes to stay in touch with their clients. Better yet, if your company has a monthly e-newsletter, set things up so every other month, that newsletter comes from your sales reps instead of just from your company outbox. You’ll get more opens!
- Require weekly “customer happiness” calls. Don’t just track cold calls by your reps; require them to make at least one customer satisfaction call a week, just to see how well you’re doing. And call them “customer happiness” calls. Just keeping a customer satisfied stopped being enough a long time ago.
- Ask your sales reps to send personal notes of congratulations to clients on anniversaries, birthdays, and when the client has received some community press.
- Make it easy for your reps to practice the personal touch by buying them personal note cards and small gifts to use in this process. The reps will appreciate the gesture, and you’ll see involvement in the idea increase by 50%.
- Track your results. Ask for copies of the cards sent out and the “customer happiness” conversations held each week, just as you would ask for their regular prospecting numbers.
