Top Ten Most Annoying Boss Habits

Annoying Boss Habit number one.  Always having to be right.  Have you ever worked with someone who always had to be right.  In most cultures the opposite of right is wrong.  And no one likes to be wrong even part of the time.

Why do some people have to be right, often at the expense of others?  If this is behavior spewing from the top office of a business, or anywhere for that matter, it can stifle communication and have a severe impact on innovation and productivity.  No body likes a know it all.

Part of feeling good about work has to do with what you add in value.  Part of contributing is being recognized for your input.  We want credit for what we do and direction when we get stuck on a task or project.  Our ideas can be very right for enhancing our presence at work.  You might offer high level skills.  Safety.  Profit.  We all offer something of value at work.

Learning about human energy and emotions is something we can all benefit from.  Especially when dealing with any bothersome attitude or behavior at work.  It's not fun to work with someone who always has to be right, especially if it's your boss.  Understanding where they're coming from might shed some light.

Once you recognize why people are "showing up" at work a certain way, it's easier to communicate your feelings to affect a better outcome.  If your boss or anyone at work always has to be right, maybe you can help them see how this affects you.  From a position of wanting to make work a better place, hopefully you can approach him and share how you feel.

Instead of looking at things from right or wrong perspectives, let's work on finding common ground.  And remember, bosses are people too.  Saying the right thing at the right time in the right way just might make a difference.

My boss is 82 years old and STILL doesn't want to stop working....He is very forgetful and has very bad eye sight. My job consists of enlarging papers multiple times for my boss so he can see them. His forgetfulness is a major problem. He gets very confused too. It's sort of sad but yet he can be a very grouchy old man so sometimes he tries my nerves. How would you like to work for someone who INSISTS you find a document that he made up in his head....and it does not exist. You know this for a fact, but he can't imagine that he might be mistaken....

My direct superior has brought the company to the depths of bankruptcy and he loves to delegate EVERYTHING to all his subordinates, he also has this habit of having an answer to problems based only on past experiences untried and untested.

He cannot handle stress and relies on everyone to deliver tasks. He also doesn't do any check and balance whatsoever that is why all the clients that we sell to has already a growing payables to the company but despite this he still approves credit to all those accounts/clients that do not care to pay us on time. Time will tell as to when we will all pay the price for our bosses lack of foresight and experience.
