Making Friends and Making Money

Good morning, fellow leaders. Let me ask you a question that can make you money today: are you keeping in touch with your friends, in spite of how busy your business keeps you? If you answer “No”, let me tell you what you’re missing. In two words, “strategic relationships”.

What are strategic relationships? They are business friendships that, because of the level of trust they contain, can suddenly lead you into real opportunity. Think for a minute and you’ll recognize what I mean. How many great sales leads have you gotten because a good friend wanted to give you the business first, ahead of the competition? How many great hires have you been able to make without endless interviews because a friend turned you on to a great prospect? Beginning to get the idea? Relationships are constant opportunity sources for your business.

But here’s the working point for you: in todays intense, over- demanding work culture, if you are not in touch with your friends and available to get their unexpected help, chances are you won’t benefit from the connection. No matter how much people like you, they usually won’t take the extra time to hunt you down to help you with a great idea. You have to be in regular touch with them; in the flow of their lives so that when the good ideas come, you’re easy to find and easy to help.

So how in touch are you with “opportunity bearing friends”?

As always, if you have any stories or questions to share, I’d love to hear them!

Hi,
I just found your web address. It's great and I'd like to become a member. Can I post my biz URL so that friends can see? Please advise. Thank you.
